Frank's Felted Clogs

No wonder these clogs are so popular - they're so much fun and warm. Pattern is Felt Clogs AC-33 from Fiber Trends and purchased from knittingzone.com, one of my favorite online retailers. I used Paton's Classic Merino in black and gray, and used two skeins of black and about one total of gray. They were put into service immediately after they were dry.

Purple Sock

I can't remember what yarn I used. All I know is that the country of origin is Turkey!! These were done in my normal pattern with 64 stitiches around and a dutch heel. The ribbing is normal 2x2 ribbing and it stretches like crazy.

FLAK Finished

All done, with the exception of a single button which I had to order! It'll probably be warm by the time it gets here!! I LOVE the buttons!

FLAK Cardigan Ready for Front Ribbing

I wish I had joined the Yahoo group for the FLAK BEFORE I started this project. I'm not sure I would have chosen 2X2 ribbing for it and now I'm in a quandry about what I should do for the front. I don't care for 1X1 ribbing much, as I believe it does not hold its shape as well as the 2X2. But for the front band, it would look better. What to do, what to do? It also is none too long. It seemed to shrink up in length every time I measured it, so I kept thinking I was almost done, and then measure it, and it would still be the same length. Latest measurement was about 22" long.
But all in all, I am quite pleased with the outcome. I notice there has been a lot of discussion about Elann Highland Wool holding up to wear in the group. My sentiments exactly. However, the consensus was that it will be durable enough!

Aqua Net Beads

There are three different types of beaded beads in this piece. It was a lot of fun. See http://www.beadinfinitum.com/ for more information about the beaded beads.

Chinese Necklace #2

The focal bead is a cube. Check out the great site http://www.beadinfinitum.com/ for more info about the beaded bead.

Peridot Netted Bead Necklace

Still trying to use up beads I already have in my possession! For more info about the beaded bead go to http://www.beadinfinitum.com/

Diamond Fantasy Scarf Finished

I never did learn the pattern for this one - I was forever tied to the chart! But I think it's a great pattern. It blocked out a lot bigger than it is now and indeed it was overspun as I feared. But it is very wearable. 19" deep and 38" wide.

Chinese Necklace

I made the beads slightly different from each other and I LOVE the way it turned out. Notice the little bead used for the closure. For more info about the beaded bead, look at http://www.beadinfinitum.com/

Pink Crystal Netted Bead Necklace

See http://www.beadinfinitum.com/ for more information about the beaded bead.

Matching Bracelet to Dog Collar

This is a person bracelet, as opposed to a dog bracelet. However, we do match. Had leftover strung beads from the dog collar project.

Pink Frothy Fringe

This has to be my favorite fringe bracelet thus far. The photograph doesn't totally show the richness of all the colors - matte, luster, shiny, translucent, etc. And the sound it makes when worn, is lovely.

By Popular Demand

People have asked to see the dog necklace, without the dog!! So here it is!!

Crocheted Loopy Bracelet - Winter

I'm getting the hang of crocheting this type of bracelet, after struggling with it. I used DMC 10 cotton, the same thread used for the amulet bags, and it worked very well.

Beaded Bead Bracelet

I'm very happy with this one. I chose to use elastic cording for this, even though it may have looked better with gold findings. I prefer the ease of wearing without dealing with a clasp. I made the beaded beads, using a very similar technique as the netted bangle bracelet previously posted. Go to the site http://www.beadinfinitum.com/ for more details about the beaded bead.

Bead-Netted Bracelet

I have found a new love with this technique, but I don't believe I'll make any more, since it takes too long. Rose colored seed beads and copper-lined transparent crystals. For details about this bracelet technique see http://www.beadinfinitum.com/

Dogs Make Bad Models

All I was trying to do was to take a simple picture of the dog's new necklace. It would have been easier to leave the dog out of the picture! Last picture shows the item. I used black upholstery thread and cheapo pearl beads, strung on the thread. Cast on 6 stitiches on #00 dpns and knit every row, with 5 beads for every other row. (Reverse side has no beads.) I was just fooling around with a new technique and was pleased at how it turned out. Now if only Sugar would cooperate!

Diamond Fantasy Scarf

Handspun wool/silk from Interlacements in the Scottish Lichen colorway spun a couple of years ago. Pattern by Sivia Harding is gorgeous! The yarn was perhaps slightly overspun, and I was concerned about it being too springy to block properly so I washed it and blocked it on the needles! I needn't have worried. It's beautiful. The skein I'm knitting from was 2.5 oz and 366 yds and it's knit on a size 5 circular needle.

Fanning the Flames Mitten

Handpainted wool yarn from Joslyn's Fiberfarm. It was intended for socks, but it pooled in an unpleasing manner. This technique employs modular knitting and is very cool. See the socks in a previous post done in the same way.

More Fringe Bracelets and Beaded Bead

Two more fringe bracelets - they are so addictive and fun. You can hardly go wrong with any of these except for the sizing. The bead made from beads is fabulous. More are in the works. Check out the web site for more info about the beaded bead: http://www.beadinfinitum.com/

Thor's Basketweave Christmas Socks

They can now be shown in public, since they have been received for Christmas. Trekking XXL with Opal Uni for the trim in black. Simple basketweave stitch.

Birch Leaf Socks

From 'A Gathering of Lace', and designed by Nancy Bush, these are lovely. Knit from Schoolhouse Press Satakielli wool, on #0 dpns, and took forever, since so much patterning was happening at the same time. Each sock was ripped several times and reknit! But I love them and they fit very well.

FLAK Cardigan

From the FLAK group, this sweater is knit from Elann Highland Wool in soft gray. The price was very reasonable, but the yarn is too soft for my liking. I suspect it will not stand up to hard wear, but I don't know that yet.

The colored rubber bands are serving as stitch markers which are color coded to the cables, so that I can keep track of them. I thought I was very clever by coming up with that idea.

Peyote Stitch Bracelets

The pink one looks like the breast cancer ribbon, doesn't it? These were very easy to make and went quickly.

Loopy Bracelet

I started out crocheting this bracelet, but the thread was very splitty and I was having troubles in general. I decided I didn't like crocheting this anymore, and took it apart and made it by beading the entire thing. I am much happier now. Plus I have much more control over the placement and color of the beads.

Beaded Bracelets

Citrus colored bracelet was crocheted. Red fringe bracelet was beaded. Both took about the same amount of time to complete - about a day. I'm liking 'em a lot and wish I could wear them all at once!!!

Plethora of Amulet Bags

A few of the many bags I have recently knit.

This picture displays the card describing the contents with a cute poem, which I found at Ann's Beaded Crochet Amulet Bags but the link no longer works.

First Necklace

Okay, I know the picture is bad, but here it is anyway. My first necklace after the basic beading class on Sunday.

I am enamored of this necklace - I think it's because it reminds me of fiber techniques. It looks great when it's worn, with just a hint of sparkle from the small seed beads and the dangles. More to follow, I'm sure. Posted by Picasa
